I seriously am amazed at how much you have changed in only two months time. You are not that tiny newborn we brought home from the hospital anymore. You are looking more and more like, well, a BABY! A beautiful baby, you just get cuter and cuter each passing day and chunkier and chunkier! Even though, it makes mommy sad you’re growing out of your newborn body, it’s extremely exciting to see how your looks and personality develop.
At 7 weeks you started speaking baby babble. It litterly happened over night. We set you down, right after your bath, and all of a sudden you starting gaaaa-ing and ahhhh-ing. It’s the cutest high pitched noise I have ever heard. You are also getting better with your hand and arm movements. They are getting smoother and you are starting to try and hold your paci with your arm and fist.
We are still loving the cloth wipes and diapers! I’m really glad we made that decision, you haven't had a diaper rash since. Plus you look so cute and comfortable in them.
You still love bath time. We bathe you a couple times a week and you just stare around the room and enjoy the warm water and mommy and daddy’s goofing singing.
You are sleeping better and better for mommy. Some nights you will sleep 4-5 hours at a time and other nights 4-6 with a 2-4 hour period after that. You never really know, but I’m loving it!
The day you turned 2 months you had a well baby visit and your very first shots! You did absolutely wonderful though. I think it was harder on mommy and daddy than on you.
We were getting worried because it sounded like you were getting a cough, but the Dr. didn't seem too concerned and you never had a runny nose or fever. (It passed after a couple days and all was well). You are 9lbs 8oz and 21 and a half inches long. Which, is in the 17-18th percentile. Dr. says you are growing perfectly! We decided to go ahead with the Rotavirus vaccine, which the Dr. said would either make you sleepy or fussy for a couple days. Since we were heading to Mount Vernon that afternoon for your first Christmas party we hoped for the sleepy side and we got our wish. You slept the whole way there and through the entire Crawford Christmas party. You would think we would be thrilled about that, but we really didn't like the fact that it made you feel funny and sleepy, but you didn’t have one bit of a fever and were your happy self so we really can’t complain.
You are over the whole swaddling thing. You love being free and moving and kicking around. You are definitely a little wiggle worm. It seems like you just can’t wait to start crawling and walking around. I think mommy is going to have her hands full!
goofball
This Christmas was truly wonderful. I love the holidays in general, but spending them as a family of 3 was something special. We had a blast at all of our Christmas gatherings and you my dear, were an amazing baby as always.
8 weeks you started using your hands a lot more. You now grab your hair and you have recently begun holding your left ear, usually when you are getting sleepy. At first I was worried you had an ear ache, but turns out it’s just another adorable little habit you have. I guess you the whole sleeping with your one arm up to your face turned into grabbing your ear once you found your hands. ;) Makes me wonder if you will always do it, it’s too cute.
You are not a fan of tummy time, but we still work on it. I think you are just too nosy for tummy time and want to see and know what’s going on. You’re not interested in what the ground looks like, but hopefully you will get the hang of it soon and you can use those neck muscles to look around!
You’re starting to really take everything in now. You track people and sounds around the room and you always want to be able to see what’s going on. I love seeing your perssonality develop and can’t wait to see what this next month, I mean NEW YEAR will bring! (like sleeping in your own room! : O Gasp!)
Love you Pnut,
Mommy
